A high fire-rate medium ranged, fireworks launcher. The Banshee Light Rocket Carousel has no projectile drop and mildly poor accuracy, which makes it useful as a deterrent, support, or as a close-range punisher in a similar fashion to the Scylla Double-Barreled Mortar.
A special property of this weapon is that hits have a high chance to light systems on fire. Harassing and damaging an opponent go hand in hand with this gun.
Common Tactics Edit
The Banshee Light Rocket Carousel is only a moderate kill weapon but it puts a lot of pressure on engineers with its high ignition chance and high rate of fires per second.
It is usually paired up with Piercing weapons like the Whirlwind Light Gatling Gun or the Hades Light Cannon and can be found on different ship types as a kill/harass weapon thanks to the wide horizontal gun arc (especially useful for side mounts). The Banshee is decently effective against balloons due to having Fire as its secondary damage type (not to mention fire stacks originating from its high ignition chance).
Apart from fire stacks the Banshee doesn't have much impact on chemsprayed ships if not supported by other guns.
However, while it is not more effective than the other kill weapons at hull impact, providing an armor break did not occur - the Banshee will have a greater effect than other kill weapons on enemy ships due to its all-around mediocre stats and jack of all trades ability.
Commonly Used Ammunition Edit
- Maximized DPS, fire stack per second.
- Reduces the effective range due to increased jitter and lower projectile speed, lowered maximum range.
- Increases clip size to 10, give more chance to apply fire stack per clip.
- Minimized a time to fire a full clip, very useful when used as a secondary weapon for the gunner or for an engineer engaged in ship repair.
